Hi 👋 Today, I bring you my book review of Angela Marsons book Silent Scream which is the first book in the D.I Kim Stone Series.

Title: Silent Scream

Author: Angela Marsons

Publisher: Bookouture

Publication Date : 20th February 2015

Synopsis:

Even the darkest secrets can’t stay buried forever…Five figures gather round a shallow grave. They had all taken turns to dig. An adult-sized hole would have taken longer. An innocent life had been taken but the pact had been made. Their secrets would be buried, bound in blood …Years later, a headmistress is found brutally strangled, the first in a spate of gruesome murders which shock the Black Country. But when human remains are discovered at a former children’s home, disturbing secrets are also unearthed. D.I. Kim Stone fast realises she’s on the hunt for a twisted individual whose killing spree spans decades. As the body count rises, Kim needs to stop the murderer before they strike again. But to catch the killer, can Kim confront the demons of her own past before it’s too late?

Fans of Rachel Abbott, Val McDermid and Mark Billingham will be gripped by this exceptional new voice in British crime fiction.

Review:

Kim Stone << dn't like Kim at all, but as the story unfolded and we got to find out a lot more about her, I love her. She is driven, determined and impatient. If someone you knew got murdered, you would definitely want D.I Kim Stone investigating that murder. She will not stop untill she has found that the killer. Her co-workers/colleagues think she is rude, impatient, and very moody.

Detective Sergeant Bryant

is his relationship with Kim Stone, her only friend. He’s a good detective and seems to know how to handle Kim. Love his character.

Plot interested from the very first sentence in the prologue which started in the past.

This was a super fast paced, well written and gripping plot line. Set in the Black Country, West Midlands in the U.K. I was literally guessing the whole way through, I could not figure out who was who and who did what until nearly the very end. Kim is investigating a number of murders. It touches on a few sensitive subjects such as rape,

This is a very well written novel. I’m not completely sure if there is any words that can describe how fucking amazing this book is.. but I’ll try. Captivating, Engrossing and Emotive.

The ending was awesome with an added extra.

I HIGHLY recommend this book.

About the Author:

I discovered my love of writing at Primary School when a short piece on the rocks and the sea gained me the only merit point I ever got. I wrote the stories that burned inside and then stored them safely in a desk drawer. After much urging from my partner I began to enter short story competitions in Writer’s News resulting in a win and three short listed entries. I self-published two of my earlier works before concentrating on my true passion – Crime. After many, many submissions I signed an 8 book deal with Bookouture as their first crime author. I live in the Black Country with my partner, our bouncy Labrador and potty-mouthed parrot.  My books SILENT SCREAM, EVIL GAMES, LOST GIRLS AND PLAY DEAD are all available from Amazon, Kobo and iBooks.
